If every willing household in Rockland gave one box of cereal to this program, we could collect 99,000 boxes over the course of the year.

The Breakfast Club

No, we’re not like that group of ne’er do well kids from the movie…we’re actually quite motivated!  And how do we get motivated?  We eat Breakfast everyday! We want to make sure that every kid in Rockland eats breakfast everyday too!  Help us help People to People feed children in need breakfast for a year!
Sounds daunting, doesn’t it?  It’s easy – here’s how you can help right now!

  • Be a Corporate Sponsor!  Pick a month and collect cereal boxes together with your employees.  We do the rest!

  • Be a Community Donor – Bring cereal boxes to local drop off centers that will be conveniently located around the Rockland area

  • "Feed Your Neighbor"  *Box Your Neighbor* with a flock of Cereal Boxes for fun!  Our secret ninja like volunteers will cover a neighbors’ lawn with cereal boxes for fun.  That neighbor can move the fun along by filling a small receptacle with cereal boxes or writing a check for cereal to People to People!

  • Program runs March 2010 through February 2011

Cereal Boxes Collected to Date: 2,759

If you would like to drop off a box (or boxes) of cereal, we have several Community Drop Off Points setup.

Children who eat breakfast regularly perform better in school. Just ask any teacher. When you are not hungry, you can focus on other tasks. Children who eat breakfast also perform better on tests.  Breakfast helps reduce distraction and can actually help you feel more alert.

BFast

Children who skip breakfast are likely to become more tired, irritable, or restless by late morning. These symptoms can lead to aggressive behavior that can cause children to get into trouble in school. Children who regularly eat a morning meal have more energy, are less likely to exhibit aggressive behavior, and have a better attitude.
